Patented cold-heat technology?

I’m not a fan of Radio Shack (a.k.a. Rickety Sh!t). But, I have to give credit where credit is due. Their Cordless Soldering Tool is really cool! It came in quite handy on the still-slightly-unfinished iPod Vibe project, and it’s 100x better than the crappy butane gun that pretty much melted in my hand when I was rewiring my 2×12 guitar cab.

I do have to laugh at the “patented cold-heat technology” though. It’s got a 2-prong tip that, when both tips are connected via a conductive material, energy from the 4 AA batteries flow across the two tips to create heat to melt the solder. Not exactly an amazing scientific feat. But, it’s still a very worthwhile product.

Tuesday being new music release day, I grabbed a copy of Beck’s new album Guero off iTunes. It’s weird, which was expected. But it’s a little cool. My favorite new listen is still Los Lonely Boys, though. It’s much more poppy than I usually like, but the guitar is kickass.
